17 countries have signed up for the Unitary Patent: 3 Scandinavian Countries: Sweden, Finland and Denmark; 3 Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania; the Benelux countries; Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg; as well as Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Portugal, Austria, Slovenia and Malta.

A Unitary Patent comes free of any official charges, which prior to the UP would have added up to over € 1.600,- for these 17 jurisdictions.
